Welcome to Our New Web Site and Our New Name!
We have recently changed our name from The Miami Valley International Trade Association (MVITA) to The International Trade Association of Southwest Ohio (ITASWO), as our reach has greatly expanded beyond the Miami Valley.
ITASWO is a volunteer organization that focuses on promoting international trade, both exporting and importing in Southwest Ohio. It supports regional Ohio businesses in their pursuits to buy and sell products and services internationally.
ITASWO conducts internationally oriented and informative programs throughout the year to educate the business community in the processes of selling in and developing business in foreign countries. Much of the support is derived from its membership with its broad spectrum of experts in various international sectors such as accounting, banking, freight forwarding, law, marketing, sales and regulations.
Association activities are supported through membership dues and program fees. ITASWO functions through a Managing Director with oversight by a 16 member elected board of trustees and appointed officers. It is incorporated as an Ohio non-profit corporation with all income used solely in support of Association activities.

2014 Annual Meeting Recap
On Thursday, September 18th, the International Trade Association of Southwest Ohio held its Annual Membership meeting at the offices of Thompson Hine LLP at Austin Landing. It was an electric evening commencing with internationally themed appetizers and signature drinks prepared by Dayton restaurant Salar. It was a great networking opportunity and a chance to meet and connect with some of the 17 new members that joined ITASWO in 2014.
Former board member Marci Wright was the emcee for the evening and introduced ITASWO's outgoing president Carl Diem who gave a report on the State of the Organization. Highlights for 2014 included: 9% growth in membership to 229 members, the name change in April from MVITA to ITASWO, the rebranding and new website by Marketing Options and a summary of the 12 events held over the past year.
Wes Aubihl, Export Assistance Manager from the Ohio Department of Development Services, briefed the attendees on Export Assistance Programs offered by the State of Ohio, including export counseling and education, market research and in-market support, export-focused interns and financial assistance.
